What makes you human? Have you ever asked yourself this question before? If not yet, then I want you to stop for a moment and ponder on this. What makes you different from other creatures in this world? Science tells us that human is the highest form of an animal. What do you think makes you, as a person, higher than animals?

Humans are unique creatures. We are born with abilities and characteristics that distinguish us from plants and animals. Unlike the plants and animals, we have the capacity to speak, think, etc. Since we are given special abilities, we are therefore given more responsibilities.

Today, technology has produced different machines that can do almost everything that humans can do. However, there are unique characteristics and abilities of humans that these devices do not possess. Unlike the machines, humans have the capacity to love and care.

However, humans now seemed to be facing difficulty in being a real human. Instead of caring, there are persons who are causing destruction. The world today is facing so many problems like global warming, human and drug trafficking, crimes, terrorism, corruption, and other forms of evil. It is sorrowful that human activities cause these problems.

As days went by, man’s ability to think improves. There are so many discoveries that can prove that man’s intelligence is continuously improving. However, it is sorrowful that the values that distinguish man from other creatures on Earth are also always dying.

Some people are no longer capable of loving and caring because their minds and hearts are filled with evil things. Instead of caring for one another, people fight and step on each other’s rights just to get on top. It is sad that there are individuals who value money and power more than their families, friends, and neighbors.

Are we still human? Are we still the highest form of animals? If you are losing your faith in humanity, take a time to read the following humanity quotes and remind yourself what makes you human.

“You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.”
