Sometimes, having a faithful and good friend is the best thing that can ever happen to anyone’s life. A real friend will cry and laugh with you. He /she will give you proper advice even though you won’t be interested in it. A good friend will never abandon you. Friends are there to give each other happy moments, pat each other on the back when one has done good and encourage each other when one is demotivated. Friends are like family except that they don’t have the same blood in their veins.

Trapilett grew up in the quiet and industrialized city of Buchneer. He was quieter than the city and was socially disconnected from other children of his age. People thought that he was a loner or had some mental dysfunction. At school, he was nicknamed “The Lone Ranger.” He didn’t mind what people said about him. He just minded his own business.

Time went by, and he still had no friend. His parents feared that he had an underlying problem, though he was doing very well academically. He was taken to psychologists, but there was nothing wrong with him. During his high school days, a new boy came into their class. He had weird long hair that other students found to be funny. He was mocked and regularly made fun of. He was teased and due to his small body, he was bullied too. It did not go well with Trapilett who felt that the new student, Glasskai, was being mistreated.

One day, as Glasskai was being manhandled, Trapilett ran to rescue him. Trapilett got the beating of his life. He was beaten until he was nose bleeding. Even though Trapilett and Glasskai were unable to defend themselves, the unfortunate event marked the beginning of a new friendship. They were always together and never felt lonely or incomplete in the company of each other. They were just normal boys who shared a deep friendship that many students of their age fantasized about or read in books.

Two years passed by and the friendship was still going strong. One day, a fire broke out at the school. As all the teachers and students made way to safety, Glasskai went back into the fire to search and rescue his beloved friend. He was trapped under some cupboards. Although Glasskai had no prior training in fire fighting, he fought hard to free and rescue Trapilett, but in the process, risked his life.

As the building collapsed, the two boys were seen an arm in arm making their way out of the building. The other students were shocked. The two boys were just ordinary people, but their bond was worth more than their lives. Their friendship went beyond the safety of one but thrived on the well-being of each other. They had set a good example, and everyone realized that one good friend is worth more than a classroom of people. Afterward, they became the heroes of the school, and their friendship was the talk of the school. True friendship conquers fear; it goes beyond the selfish desire on oneself but looks after the needs of others. True friendship never dies, though friends may depart from this world.
